HCC Creation Care

This relatively new ministry has already had an impact on several areas of our community life:

At the encouragement from this group, we now serve coffee which complies with fair trade guidelines.

A recycling program is starting to give us a substantial savings on our trash disposal, as we are able to get by with a smaller dumpster.

After the committee arranged an energy audit, we learned that we could reduce our energy consumption by revamping much of our lighting. This required an upfront capital investment, but conservative estimates indicate that the savings on our monthly bill will pay off the investment in less than three years.

Through bulletin inserts and Facebook postings, the committee is hoping to make the congregation more mindful of this area of what it means to be a disciple.
